      Rapporten handler om informationssamfundet i Østersølandene og giver indikatorer for udviklingen i bl.a. produktion og handel med it, virksomheders og borgeres brug af it samt forskning og beskæftigelsesmønstre i it-brancherne. , Blandt de mange it-nyheder for Østersøregionen viser rapporten fx, at Danmark sammen med Island og Sverige hører til de lande, hvor flest bruger internettet til kontakt med offentlige myndigheder. , Rapporten viser også, at Estland har regionens største vækst i eksport af it-produkter. Til gengæld deler Danmark og Litauen førstepladsen med den højeste andel af kvindelige ansatte i it-industrien, og Letland og Litauen har regionens yngste arbejdsstyrke inden for it-service.
