    Railway

    The railway statistics show the length of the railway network broken down by various categories of tracks. In addition, a calculation is made of the investments in the railway network. The statistics include all railways, including Metro, light rail, suburban train, inter-regional railways and private railways. Furthermore, the kilometric performance is shown, i.e. the number of kilometres covered by all trains on the Danish rail network. , Introduction, Infrastructure, Information on the railway network comes from the infrastructure owners (primarily Banedanmark).     Closing the Twinning project in Georgia

    The EU funded Twinning project ‘Strengthening the Capacity of the Georgian Statistical System (GE 16 ENI ST 06 18)’ is coming to a close after a period of 32 months. On the 24th November the project had a closing event to formally celebrate the project and its achievements. But through Zoom the project has managed to work efficiently through the pandemic.     A population and Housing Census in the making

    Ghana is conducting a digitalized survey based Housing and Population Census for the first time and is also the first country to do so in West Africa., 7 September 2021 12:00 ,  , A cooperation between Statistics Denmark and Ghana Statistical Service aims at strengthening official statistics in Ghana. Therefore, Statistics Denmark follows the Housing and Population Census going on this year in the country., It is the first time ever that Ghana conducts a digitalized survey based Housing and Population Census and the first country to do so in West Africa.,  , A total of 75.000 enumerators have now completed the data collection for the census and the immense work around data cleaning, processing, analysis and publication has begun. , The next ambition is to strengthen the use of administrative data in the country. This will make it, less expensive and labour intensive to conduct the next decennial census and ensure access to timely and accurate statistics for politicians and civilians alike., Statistics Denmark is supporting this process and Ghana’s journey towards a modernized statistical infrastructure.
